think about how hard it would be to communicate. I mean, we have done it for thousands of years without phones, but we have become so dependant on being able to reach people at any time, that I and Im sure plenty of other people. wouldnt be able to adjust well.

  2. Touch Phones

No, their are too many things that currently rely, I agree that in many ways they are a pollution to society, but all the more reason not to do it at once. Unfortunately we have formed a dependency.

Oh no they’re not. They are very helpful actually. What the pollution is is the choice people make to use them while driving and so forth. Just because they annoy one person doesn’t mean we should destroy them all.

NO Sometimes cell phones come in handy in an emergency. Some people show no telephone curtesy. It is nice to see some people go outside a public establishment when they get a call. It gives them privacy and it is very much apreciated by the patrons of a restaurand or what ever event they are at.

  5. Touch Phones

I would push a button to instantly teach people cell phone etiquette. But no, I would not get rid of cell phones. They’re too convenient, too helpful for our society to get rid of.
That’s like saying cars are too dangerous to continue using. But as long as we’re in the hypothetical, I’d push another button to teach people safe driving!
    :]

Not to mention, cell phones actually help people as well. I was in a car accident several months ago and would have died had I not had my seat belt on. I was able to call my mom to come up to the hospital using my cell phone. If I hadn’t had it, I would have sat by myself in the ER for five hours before anyone got to me to let me contact someone. Cell phones have the potential to help more than hurt, people just need to learn the proper, courteous ways to use them.

no, they are only a pollution when abused. they can be a lifesaver in many instances (such as a robber cutting the main phone line) and are great for emergencies. I would rather my loved ones had one so that if they got into a car accident they could call me and let me know so I wouldn’t worry than to get rid of them.

why the hell would you? You need to think about how much cell phones are important in everyday lives. Lets say you were with your friend in the car and got into an accident. People these days aren’t going to pull over and help you out. They are just going to mind their own business and ignore you or just let out a brief shocked face and move on. Your on the brink of death and you friend isn’t injured. What are you going to do? Wait for someone to pull over and call 911 like an idiot, no. Your going to use your phone to call 911 IMMEDIATELY. See nobody really thinks twice on how much cell phones impact our society. They help us with many things at the touch of a button. It’s technology, deal with it.

I use to feel the way you do. In 2002 we bought a new car and our son wanted to give us his old one because he was worried about us. Well, something went wrong with the car as my hubby was driving home from our son’s at 1am. I called our son and said yes we will take it. He was so worried about us because we traveled the back roads and he was afraid if we needed help we couldn’t get it. That phone was 10 years old and we just replaced it. It has helped a lot of people in trouble. So I am now very thankful for it. We both have one now.
